American Uranium Ltd (ASX:AMU, OTC:GTRIF) has confirmed it will kick off the first phase of resource development drilling at its flagship Lo Herma Project in Wyoming during the week commencing October 20, 2025, marking a key milestone for one of the few near-term in-situ recovery (ISR) uranium projects in the United States.
The program is designed to expand the project’s resource base and strengthen its role in supplying uranium into America’s resurgent nuclear energy market.
Focus on resource growth
Phase one drilling will target extensions of known mineralised trends to the north of the project’s planned mine units one and two, with the aim of increasing Lo Herma’s 8.57-million-pound (32% indicated) eU₃O₈ Mineral Resource Estimate.
In addition, hydrogeological testing is set to occur alongside the drilling program, with further details to be provided. This work will underpin future ISR development plans, ensuring the project meets technical and regulatory requirements.
“We are pleased to confirm the expected timing of our upcoming approved resource development drilling campaign at Lo Herma,” American Uranium chief executive and executive director Bruce Lane said.
“The program aims to increase the current 8.57Mlbs (32% indicated) eU₃O₈ Mineral Resource Estimate by converting Exploration Target Range mineralisation for Lo Herma, which currently stands at 5.6 to 7.1 million tonnes at a grade range of 500 ppm to 700 ppm eU₃O₈,” he added. “The exploration results are expected to feed into an updated Mineral Resource Estimate and revised Scoping Study in 2026, positioning AMU to deliver value from America’s nuclear energy revival.”
A permitted large-scale program
American Uranium holds approvals for up to 121 drill hole locations and as much as 37,500 metres of drilling at Lo Herma, with work planned in stages. The first phase will prioritise step-out drilling for resource expansion, while later phases will include infill work to upgrade Inferred material to higher-confidence categories within the planned mine units.

This multi-phase approach is designed to both grow the overall resource and improve classification, supporting feasibility studies and ultimately development decisions.
Building momentum in Wyoming
The confirmation of drilling follows recent approvals and preparatory work at Lo Herma, including hydrogeology planning and permitting. In September, the company secured the green light for the large-scale drill program, noting its importance for delivering a significant boost to resource confidence and scale.

With uranium demand buoyed by US energy policy moves and renewed support for nuclear power as a carbon-free baseload source, American Uranium is positioning Lo Herma as a potential near-term ISR producer. The company expects updated resource estimates and a revised scoping study in 2026 to reflect the results of the upcoming campaign.
