Defence Holdings PLC (LSE:ALRT) shares climbed in Wednesday's trade after announcing its second classified AI product build.
The company told investors, without disclosing specifics, that the new software-led solution focuses on 'edge-based analysis, identification and decision-support' which it says addresses a top operational priority for UK and allied forces in real-time deployment environments.
It added that an AI-enabled system ingests data from deployed sensors, runs time-critical inference on secure edge devices, and synchronises outputs to headquarters. And, it says, the tech project will enhance identification confidence, reduce misclassification, and accelerate decision cycles.
"We're breaking through the traditional defence cycle," said chief technology officer, Andrew McCartney.
"The momentum we're building is already visible across the community," he added.
"This second classified build is proof that the model is scalable into areas of the highest operational value, such as identification and edge decision support.
"These are not niche requirements but critical problems for the UK and allied forces. For Defence Holdings, it represents both a significant commercial opportunity and the chance to establish ourselves as the sovereign partner of choice in some of the most strategically important areas of defence."
Defence Holdings said the solution is aligned with the UK’s Strategic Defence Review 2025 and NATO interoperability goals.
In London, Defence Holdings shares were up around 8% changing hands at 4.37p.
