Defence Holdings surges on MoD AI product announcement

Defence Holdings PLC (LSE:ALRT) traded more than 30% higher on Thursday after it announced its first artificial intelligence product at the DSEI 2025 defence exhibition in London.

The system is already being developed for the UK Ministry of Defence through the company’s Defence Technologies platform. It is being built in partnership with Whitespace Global and one of the world’s so-called “Magnificent 7” big-tech companies (which is providing cloud infrastructure).

“Our first product proves that Defence Holdings can move faster than the traditional defence cycle,” said chief technology officer Andrew McCartney.

In London, Defence Holdings shares were up 0.23p or 35% changing hands at 0.88p each, valuing the business at just over £16.5 million.
