Simon Linge has been appointed President of the Association for the Battery Recycling Industry (ABRI). The Livium Ltd (ASX:LIT, OTC:LMMFF) managing director and CEO will lead ABRI’s efforts to foster collaboration across industry and government, aiming to advance a safe, sustainable and globally competitive battery recycling sector.
Linge sees the appointment as a strategic opportunity to influence long-term industry value and outcomes.
“I’m honoured to take on the role of President at ABRI at such a pivotal time for our industry. Battery recycling is fast becoming a cornerstone of the global energy transition, and ABRI plays a critical role in shaping the future of this sector in Australia,” Linge said.
“As the peak body, ABRI provides a unified voice to champion innovation, investment, and the development of robust industry standards that will help us build a truly circular battery economy.”
Driving sector-wide collaboration and policy alignment
In his new capacity, Linge will guide ABRI’s strategic direction, engaging with members, policymakers and industry stakeholders to promote best practice, encourage investment and respond to evolving regulatory and market developments.
ABRI represents the full battery supply chain, and under Linge’s leadership, aims to support the emergence of a robust circular battery economy in Australia.
“The regulatory landscape — both here in Australia and globally — is evolving rapidly and with it comes the opportunity to position Australia as a leader in safe, sustainable battery recycling,” Linge said.
“I’m committed to working with ABRI members, Government, and industry stakeholders to ensure we’re not only keeping pace with change but actively driving it by aligning need with policy, regulation and investment priorities.”
Advancing lithium technology and recycling

This week Livium announced it has partnered with artificial intelligence and ledger technology company NoviqTech Ltd to enhance its advanced battery recycling operations through digital innovation, launching a project to tokenise the environmental benefits of its processes.

The collaboration will utilise NoviqTech’s Carbon Central platform and the Hedera distributed ledger to generate tokenised digital certificates. These certificates will represent independently verified carbon emissions reductions and critical mineral recovery achieved at Livium’s recycling facilities.
