Apple Inc (NASDAQ:AAPL, ETR:APC) has avoided immediate fallout from new US-China tariffs, but future sector-specific duties could pose moderate earnings risk, Bank of America said Monday.

Consumer electronics, including Apple products, are temporarily exempt from the newly announced 125% reciprocal tariffs, leaving Chinese imports subject to a 20% rate and Indian imports at 0%.

Intel Corp (NASDAQ:INTC, ETR:INL) shares moved higher in early trade on Monday after the company announced the sale of a 51% stake in its programmable chip unit Altera to private equity firm Silver Lake, valuing Altera at $8.75 billion.

Ocean Power Technologies Inc (NYSE-A:OPTT) announced that it has secured a new contract with an international government client for the near-term delivery of a fully integrated Wave Adaptive Modular Vessel (WAM-V).Assembly of the vehicle is already underway, with shipment and in-country training and support to follow.

"Securing this contract is testament to demand for our systems in the market,” OPT chief executive Philipp Stratmann said in a statement. “Recent efforts in Latin America and the Middle East are continuing to drive interest in our systems.”

Goldman Sachs Group Inc (NYSE:GS, ETR:GOS) opened around 3% higher on Wall Street despite a slowdown in investment banking fees, as strong trading revenue lifted overall results.

First-quarter profits rose 15% to $4.74 billion, with revenue up 6% at $15 billion. But dealmaking showed strain: investment banking fees fell 8% year-on-year, and advisory revenue slumped 22%, missing expectations.

Shares in Goldman Sachs Group Inc (NYSE:GS, ETR:GOS) climbed 2.6% pre-market as the bank reported stronger earnings than expected and announced a $40 billion share buyback.

Earnings per share came in at $14.12 for the first quarter, versus the $12.26 consensus estimate, strongly higher than the $11.58 for the first quarter of 2024 and $11.95 for the fourth quarter of 2024.

Scancell Holdings PLC (AIM:SCLP, OTC:SCNLF) shares climbed 19% on Monday after the company announced a partnership with the NHS Cancer Vaccine Launch Pad to speed up recruitment for the next phase of its melanoma trial.

The initiative will fast-track eligible NHS patients into the fourth cohort of Scancell’s ongoing phase II SCOPE study, which is testing iSCIB1+, a DNA-based cancer vaccine delivered into the skin alongside standard immunotherapy. The study is coordinated by the Southampton Clinical Trials Unit.
