Palantir shares rise after NATO selects AI-powered Maven Smart System

Palantir Technologies Inc (NYSE:PLTR) shares rose 5.4% on Monday following NATO’s acquisition of its Maven Smart System.

The AI-driven system, which leverages Palantir’s expertise in generative AI, machine learning, and large language models, will be operational within the next 30 days.

Maven is designed to improve battlespace awareness, targeting, and decision-making—key areas NATO has prioritized as it looks to modernize its defense capabilities.

Wedbush said the company is “in the sweet spot” to benefit from growing federal demand for AI.

Analysts called the deal a “significant step” for NATO and another win for Palantir, noting it comes at a time when defense spending has been under scrutiny and the company has faced pressure in recent months.

Still, analysts said Palantir’s unique software and ability to handle highly sensitive workloads position it well to capture a larger share of US federal contracts.

“This deal represents an additional tailwind,” Wedbush wrote, adding that AI initiatives in both the US and Europe are accelerating, and Palantir is poised to play a central role.

CEO Alex Karp’s company is increasingly seen as a key player in the strategic race to implement AI across global defense infrastructure, Wedbush said.
