Genflow Biosciences PLC (LSE:GENF, OTCQB:GENFF) shares were up as much as 8% in morning trading after the company cleared a major hurdle in securing a European patent for its SIRT6 variant, a potential breakthrough in treating age-related diseases.
The European Patent Office completed its review with no further questions, allowing the application to advance.
If granted, it would give Genflow exclusive rights in Europe to develop treatments based on this gene, which is linked to DNA repair, metabolism, and longevity.
CEO Dr Eric Leire called it a “significant step forward”, strengthening Genflow’s position in the growing field of longevity therapeutics.
After the initial burst of activity, the stock settled at 1.90p, up 0.05p.
