A quiet Christmas week will feature a string of macroeconomic updates from both sides of the Atlantic.
Monday will see an update on house prices from Zoopla, while a final estimate on third-quarter economic growth is also due.
Initial readings showed gross domestic product up 1% over the quarter, which is expected to remain unchanged.
In the US, consumer confidence data will be in focus in the meantime.
"Trump continues to exert considerable influence over financial markets," AJ Bell's Russ Mould pointed out, "it will therefore be interesting to see if this spills over".
Home sales in the US will then be released on Christmas Eve, with 660,000 purchases expected through November, against October's 610,000.
Initial jobless claims figures follow on Thursday after the Christmas break, before Gelion offers some company news at the back end of the week.
