Gelion has plenty to report after busy six months for battery tech group

Gelion PLC (AIM:GELN) has the distinction of being one of the few companies scheduled to report during Christmas week, but there should be plenty to cover as it has been a busy few months for the Anglo-Australian battery group.

Only this week, the AIM-listed group completed a £1.57 million funding, which followed a £2.5 million grant award from the Australian government the day before for its Lithium Sulfur (Li-S) and Silicon Sulfur (Si-S) battery technologies.

Earlier this year, the group also signed a deal with mining giant Glencore to commercialise its next-generation battery technologies and explore recycling of batteries.

More recently, in October, the group won its first order for £1 million with Borg Group subsidiary Group Energy.

That order was for two high-performance one-megawatt lithium-ion containerised battery energy storage systems.
