Games Workshop keeps its brief: trading is OK

Shares in Games Workshop Group PLC (LSE:GAW) fell 1.5% after the tabletop gaming group put out one of the shortest trading statements in stock market history.

In its entirety, the 23-word statement read: "Games Workshop Group PLC (LSE:GAW) announces that trading for the three months to 1 September 2024 has been in line with the board's expectations."

Less than 10 words if you exclude the company's name and the time period.

Investors had last heard about the Warhammer maker's financial details in July, when it put out a relatively weighty 97-word statement to confirm a dividend of 100p per share.

Also that month, the company revealed it was finalising creative guidelines for an Amazon Prime series of films and television programmes based in the Warhammer 40k universe.
