Comcast/NBCUniversal’s streaming service Peacock is hiking prices this summer, in time for the Olympics and merely one year after its last increase.
From mid-July, ad-supported Peacock Premium will increase by $2 to $7.99 per month and Peacock Premium Plus will go up $2 to $13.99.
Annual subscriptions will increase from $59.99 to $79.99 and $119.99 to $139.99 respectively for Premium and Premium Plus.
Peacock will implement the new prices for new subscribers starting July 18.
In parent company Comcast Corporation (NASDAQ:CMCSA, ETR:CTP2)’s first-quarter earnings published on 25 April, the group said paid Peacock subscribers increased 55% year on year with three million net additions in the quarter.
Peacock revenue increased 54% to $1.1 Billion, with exclusive film and sports rights galvanising support for the platform.
Last month, Peacock secured the rights to exclusive NFL games (alongside Amazon Prime) as part of an updated media distribution agreement for the 2024 season.
The platform also exclusively streamed Oppenheimer in the quarter, which quickly became the most-streamed film in Peacock’s four-year history.
