Reckitt Benckiser Group PLC (LSE:RKT, ETR:3RB) chairman Chris Sinclair will step down next year and be replaced by former Sky chief executive Jeremy Darroch, making a 12-month clean sweep at the top of the Vanish and Cillit Bang maker.
Sinclair will have served a nine-year term on the board, including six as chair, by the time of the annual shareholder meeting next May, when he will hand over the role.
Darroch is an existing non-executive director on the board, having joined last November, as well as being chair of the National Oceanography Centre.
Previous executive roles before Sky included DSG International and Procter & Gamble (NYSE:PG), with non-exec positions since including Marks & Spencer and Burberry.
In June, Reckitt announced it was promoting chief customer officer Kris Licht to be its new chief executive and in August appointed a new chief financial officer, Shannon Eisenhardt, from Nike.
Darroch said: "As a board we are aligned that Reckitt is extremely well positioned to deliver sustainable and sector-leading total returns for shareholders."
Sinclair said his successor is "an outstanding leader and the ideal appointment", with "considerable expertise in the consumer retail environment".
