Anglo Asian shares jump 30% as Gedabek operations to resume

Anglo Asian Mining PLC (AIM:AAZ, OTC:AGXKF) shares climbed by a third as it confirmed it had signed an agreement with the Azerbaijan government that will allow it to reopen the processing plant at its Gedabek gold and copper mine.

The miner had to halt production while an investigation into its tailings dam was carried out by consultant Micon.

Anglo Asian said it has agreed to implement certain enhancements as part of an action plan for Gedabek, which will see the processing plant reopen in stages.

Production has still been possible at its heap leach operations, which is the basis of a forecast of between 30-34,000 gold equivalent ounces this year, which was reiterated by the miner.

Shares added 17.5p to 67.5p.
