Anglo-Asian rallied as the Azerbaijan government said it would be allowed to restart operations at its Gedabek mine following a review of the tailings dam by consultant Micon.
Only this morning, Anglo Asia said it did not expect Gedabek to resume full operations this year but Micon delivered its report to the government today and the Azerbaijan prime minister stated said the mine can now gradually reopen.
“The restart of operations will take place in accordance with a timetable to be agreed with the Government.
“The company and the Government will also work together to implement Micon's recommendations for the Gedabek operation contained in the report,” said the statement.
A summary of the key findings will be released as they become available, said the miner.
