MP Evans Group PLC (AIM:MPE) has announced an extension of its ongoing share buyback programme by a further £2 million.
The extension brings the sustainable palm oil producer’s total buyback programme commenced in June to £4 million.
MP Evans Group PLC (AIM:MPE) said production edged up in its latest half year though lower palm oil prices and higher costs affected earnings.
Palm oil production rose 3% to166,200 tonnes in the half year to end June 2023, with 2% more crop processed at 721,100t but a 27% drop in the crude palm oil price meant revenues were 20% lower than a year ago at US$134.5 million.

Delays to the construction of the facility, caused by interruptions to the deliveries of key components and associated equipment, means the group will not be able to commence any production until after the third quarter, the company revealed in a trading update.
Graft Polymer (UK) PLC has joined forces with the Faculty of Polymer Technology in Slovenia to develop polymer matrices, combining their technological expertise to prepare and test product samples over the course of a year.
Materials provided by Graft will enable the faculty to take part in a number of cornerstone Horizon projects in the European Union.
Rainbow Rare Earths Ltd (LSE:RBW, OTC:RBWRF) has signed a strategic supply agreement with UK-based Less Common Metals (LCM) to source and supply critical magnet minerals.
In particular, Rainbow will supply the magnet-separated rare earth oxides neodymium and praseodymium (NdPr), dysprosium and terbium all of which are used to make permanent magnets for electric vehicles, wind turbines, and other tech products.
Frontier IP Group PLC (AIM:FIPP)’s portfolio company Pulsiv has officially appointed Dr. Mark Gerhard as company chairman, and Dr. Tim Moore as the new chief product officer.
Both will take up positions on Frontier IP’s board.
