The update from the owner of Bovis Homes will be eagerly anticipated for its perspective on what's happening in the housing market, with some industry data showing the fastest decline in house prices in 12 years while other figures indicate demand is fairly solid.
A statement on trading is also scheduled from another corner of the construction market, in the form infrastructure specialist Galliford Try Holdings PLC (LSE:GFRD)
The year-end update should maintain the positive tone set by the company and the sector, said broker Peel Hunt, noting that since March’s interim results there has been a “procession” of new, positive contract awards, as well as the announcement of a successful contract settlement.
