Excellon Resources Inc shares climbed 22% to $0.45 on Monday after the gold, silver and base metals projects developer announced that it is considering various alternatives to complement the company's go-forward strategy, which could include acquisitions, divestitures, mergers or spin-offs of Excellon's or third parties' assets.

The company also said it will be reversing a US$22 million liability from its March 31, 2023, consolidated balance sheet as a result of the Mexican Bankruptcy Court declaring one of its care-and-maintenance subsidiaries bankrupt effective March 28, 2023, which Excellon noted is an “overhang that has been with the company since 2019.”

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has issued an Opinion and Order requiring DNA sequencing provider, Illumina Inc (NASDAQ:ILMN), to divest Gral Inc, which makes a multi-cancer early detection (MCED) test.

In a statement on its website, the FTC said the deal would stifle competition and innovation in the US market for life-saving cancer tests. The Opinion reverses an Administrative Law Judge’s initial decision that dismissed the antitrust charges in a complaint brought by FTC staff, it added.

Tesla Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) scored record sales in the first three months of the year, the company said on Monday, as price cuts helped to boost demand for its electric vehicles (EVs).

Sales were up 5% from the previous quarter to 422,875, it said in a statement, with the figure sitting 36% higher than between January and March last year. Despite the record figure, that missed a mean estimate of 432,000, compiled by FactSet as of Friday.

Saputo (TSX:SAP) Inc revealed that it has inked a definitive agreement to sell two fresh milk processing facilities to Coles Group Limited, an Australia-based supermarket chain, in a transaction valued at C$95 million.

Extra Space Storage will acquire Life Storage in an all-stock transaction valued at about $12.7 billion creating a storage operator with a total enterprise value of $46 billion and a market capitalization of $36 billion.

The companies said in a joint statement that Life Storage shareholders will receive 0.8950 of an Extra Space share for each Life Storage share they own, representing a total consideration of approximately $145.82 per share based on Extra Space's share price close on March 31, 2023.

The merger between WWE and UFC-owner Endeavor values the companies at a combined total of more than $21 billion. Notably, it values WWE at $9.3 billion, a more than 33% premium over the company’s market cap on Friday.

Ovintiv announced Monday it is acquiring oil exploration and production assets in the Permian Basin, in the United Stataes from Black Swan Oil & Gas, PetroLegacy Energy and Piedra Resources, companies controlled by private equity firm EnCap Investments, for about $4.275 billion in cash and stock.

The acquisition supports the company’s efforts to expand its operations in the Permian Basin, where it has already committed to undertaking additional drilling work.

Southern Silver Exploration Corp (TSX-V:SSV, OTCQX:SSVFF) has received assay results from the final two core holes of its 4,050-meter, 2022 drilling program at its Oro property in New Mexico, the company announced.

Specifically, hole OR22-012 tested a geophysical anomaly in an area believed to be relatively high in the metal system and where Cretaceous-age carbonate host rocks were expected to lie at relatively shallow depths beneath Laramide-age andesite volcanic rocks, the company said.

Regency Silver Corp has announced that, due to demand from investors, the non-brokered private placement announced on March 24, 2023 will now consist of up to 6,250,000 common shares at a price of $0.40 per share for gross proceeds to the company of up to $2.5 million. The proposed terms of the private placement and use of proceeds are otherwise as previously disclosed in the company's news release dated March 24, 2023. All common shares issued under the private placement will be subject to a four month hold period, in accordance with applicable Canadian securities laws.

Stuhini Exploration Ltd said it has renewed its option on the Que Project. The option agreement was first announced on February 21, 2020 and amended and restated on October 26, 2020 whereby Stuhini can acquire a 100% interest in the road accessible Que Property, located in the Yukon, Canada approximately 70 kilometres from Johnson's Crossing. The agreement as amended provides for the payment of a total of 112,500 shares of the company to optionors, as defined in the agreement, on the third anniversary date of the approval of the option by the TSX-V. These shares are the only committed payment over the next 12 months. There are no work commitments. The balance of the share issuances and the cash payments are all at the Company's election should it wish to maintain the option after April 2, 2024.
