West Wits Mining set to diamond drill at Mt Cecilia following "encouraging" maiden RC results

West Wits Mining Ltd (ASX:WWI) is planning a follow-up diamond drilling program at the Mt Cecilia Project in Western Australia, encouraged by broad gold intervals encountered in maiden reverse circulation (RC) drilling.

The company recently received the final set of assay results from four RC holes in the campaign conducted by farm-In partner Rio Tinto Exploration Pty Limited at target SGC_1, investigating a moderately strong electromagnetic (EM) conductive anomaly.

Those results, coupled with broad intersections of gold encountered in the first two holes of 82 metres and 56 metres respectively, have prompted WWI to investigate the SGC_1 with deeper diamond drilling and a downhole EM survey.

Potential for further mineralisation

“We are encouraged by the positive results of Mt Cecelia’s maiden drilling campaign which shows significant intervals of gold mineralisation,” West Wits Mining CEO and managing director Jac van Heerden said.

“The exploration team’s view that the source of the EM anomaly is potentially yet to be located leaves the prospect open for discovery of further mineralisation.

“The downhole EM surveys planned for Q2 2023 will provide new localised EM modelling to better target the anomaly for the diamond drilling campaign scheduled for late 2023.

“The fact that SGC_1 target’s initial exploration results justify a follow-up diamond drilling campaign in 2023 and re-opens interpretation of Mt Cecelia’s remaining seven EM targets (SGC_2-8), highlights the potential for the Mt Cecelia Project.

“We look forward to advancing exploration with our farm-in partner, Rio Tinto Exploration, in the 2023 field season.”
