Jindalee Resources holds US’s largest lithium deposit following mineral resource increase

Jindalee Resources Ltd (ASX:JRL) has taken the crown as the largest lithium deposit in the US after a recent mineral resource update increased the McDermitt Lithium Project’s resource by 62% contained lithium.

The project now boasts a combined indicated and inferred mineral resource of 3 billion tonnes at 1,340 parts per million (1,000 ppm cut-off) for 21.5 million tonnes of LCE, making it the largest lithium deposit by contained lithium in the United States.

The mineral resource upgrade included data from 62 drill holes, 33 reverse circulation (RC) and 29 diamond-drilled, and supported JRL’s existing mineralisation model.

Next steps

Jindalee is focused on continuing to de-risk the McDermitt project on multiple fronts.

The company completed environmental baseline and cultural studies at McDermitt in 2022, and applied for an Exploration Plan of Operation (EPO) to enable further drilling and bulk sampling from the Bureau of Land Management in mid-January this year.

Jindalee is also conducting a review of all metallurgical test work undertaken at McDermitt to-date with the assistance of experienced external consultants, intending to determine the optimal processing route for the project later in the March 2023 quarter.
