ECR Minerals reports highest-grade gold intercept at Bailieston

ECR Minerals PLC (AIM:ECR) happily reported further high-grade gold intercepts as diamond drilling at its Blue Moon Prospect was completed.

The three latest holes included the best gold intercept yet in the campaign at its 100%-owned Bailieston project in Victoria, Australia, with hole BBMDD010 revealing a composite grade of 6.35 metres (m) at 4.56 grammes of gold per tonne of earth (g/t Au) from 84.9m down.

The hole also included 0.5m at 17.77 g/t Au from 84.9m, 0.4m at 15.02 g/t Au from 85.4m and 0.3m at 10.62 g/t Au from 85.8m.

The other holes tested deeper levels and contained only “negligible” gold, including 0.4m at 0.25 g/t Au from 205.2m and 1m at 0.72 g/t Au from 95m.

Chief executive Andrew Haythorpe said “we have for the most part seen continuity of grades across results from the holes announced today".

BBMDD010 producing the best result was “as largely expected by the geo team”, he said, also tipping his cap to technical director Adam Jones and his team for coping with logistical challenges during the campaign, including wet weather and site access issues.

Next steps for Blue Moon will be reported “in the next few weeks”, he added, on receipt of assays for holes BBMDD012 and BBMDD013.

The Midas drilling rig was demobilised on Thursday and will undergo a service and is expected to be up and drilling within the nearby Brewery Lane property next week, with drilling scheduled to follow up on the RC drill results from the 2019 Creswick campaign.

A number of drillholes are planned into the quartz reef (Spring Hill Reef) where recent high grade rock chips in situ were taken from the walls of historic workings from the 1800s.
