UK medical cannabis market 'could create 97k new jobs and be worth £2bn if regulation is relaxed'

The UK’s medicinal cannabis industry could create 97,000 new jobs and be worth £2bn if government regulation around the sector is relaxed - this according to a new report published by Maple Tree Consultants and law firm Mackrell Solicitors.

To discuss this, Professor Mike Barnes, a neurologist and Co-Founder of Maple Tree Consultants and Ricardo Geada, Head of Cannabis Law Team at Mackrell.Solicitors join Proactive London.

Britain’s current rules on the drug mean the country currently imports the great majority of its cannabidiol (CBD) products and 100% of its medical cannabis despite being one of the world’s largest exporters.
