Real Good Food sweetens management team at Garrett Ingredients

AIM-listed Real Good Food Company (LON:RGD) has unveiled two new appointments at its Garrett Ingredients dairy business.

The company, which also owns sugar arm Napier Brown, Renshaw baking, jam division R&W Scott, and Haydens Bakery, said Andy Birkett will become managing director, while Gareth Silcox will join as business development director.

Birkett starts on January 20 and Silcox begins work next Monday.

Birkett’s CV includes 2 Sisters Food Group, Oscar Meyer and Milklink, formerly express Dairies. He already lives in Somerset, near Garrett’s office at Thornbury.

Silcox has had a number of positions in the dairy industry, including jobs at Dairy Crest and First Milk, as well as running his own dairy trading business.

Chairman Peter Totté said: “I am delighted to welcome Andy and Gareth to our fast expanding Garrett Ingredients business and wish them both well in their new roles with us.

“Their appointments continue the re-shaping of our overall group structure, as we seek to maximise the potential of all five trading businesses within the group.”
