DiamondCorp (LON:DCP) has beefed up the legal expertise on its board with the appointment of lawyer John Hulme Scholes as an independent non-exec.
Hulme Scholes, a specialist in mining and mineral law in South Africa, has been advising DiamondCorp since 2005 on its flagship Lace diamond mine in South Africa. He is also a director of Aquarius Platinum, West Wits Mining and Randgold & Exploration.
Euan Worthington, DiamondCorp’s chairman, said Hulme Scholes would bring valuable local knowledge to the company as it moves towards diamond production at Lace.
George Morton is retiring as a non-executive director, DiamondCorp added.
