US Oil & Gas (GXG:USOP) said his evening it has obtained a court order requiring three website operators to disclose the identities of users who allegedly posted “unlawful comments”.
The trio run bulletin boards hugely popular with private investors. No legal complaints were made against the companies who own sites beyond the order seeking disclosure of the identities, USOP said.
Chief executive Brian McDonnell said: “The company has no intention of being distracted from its agenda by these matters, but defamatory, false and misleading statements about the company and its directors cannot be allowed to stand unchallenged.
“Those making such statements will see that there are consequences.”
