Predictive Discovery (ASX: PDI) has extended its tenement coverage on the Bonsiega Project in Burkina Faso by a further 10 kilometres with the signing of an option agreement over a 45 square kilometre exploration permit located adjacent and south‐west of the company’s Sirba permit.
Importantly, the new permit, Kogodou South, lies along strike from the strong gold mineralised system which Predictive recently discovered on the adjacent Sirba and Madyabari permits to the north‐east.
These tenements contain over 16 kilometres of strong gold geochemical anomalies on the Laterite Hill Grid.
Recent reconnaissance reverse circulation drilling by Predictive on a 2 kilometre strike length in the Dave and Dave East Prospects returned strong gold mineralised intercepts including 26 metres at 2.7 grams per tonne (g/t) gold, 46 metres at 1.4g/t and 14 metres at 3.7g/t.
Managing director Paul Roberts commented, “Predictive Discovery’s ground acquisition strategy in Burkina Faso is aimed at expanding tenement holdings in the north‐east of the country within an approximate 60 kilometre radius.
“This creates the opportunity to centrally process gold ore from a cluster of ore deposits discovered on this large regional tenement holding. The Kogodou South acquisition fits perfectly with this approach.
“In addition, this prospective but virtually unexplored area lies largely under thin alluvial cover and is therefore very well suited to application of the Predictore technology as the company seeks extensions to the Laterite Hill gold mineralised system.”
To settle the acquisition of the new permit, Predictive will make an initial US$15,000 payment and will then make three additional payments, up to a total of $190,000, on the first, second and third anniversary of signing the initial agreement.
Predictive is planning geological mapping, the interpretation of existing aerial magnetic data and application of the Predictore technology to identify targets for power auger geochemical sampling, which is scheduled for the first half of 2012.
Bonsiega Project
Predictive Discovery has been ramping up its exploration in Burkina Faso. Last month the company launched an extensive drilling campaign at the Bonsiega and Bangaba Projects.
The goal of the campaign will be to define a maiden gold resource by the September quarter of 2012.
