Monday's most followed 2: De La Rue, Amur Minerals, Yule Catto, PetroLatina Energy, Caledon Resources

De La Rue (LON:DLR) has appointed Tim Cobbold as chief executive and an executive director of the company with effect from 1 January 2011.

Amur Minerals (LON:AMC) shares soared 31% after the company reported that three of the four external agencies included in the licence approval process for a mining licence on its Kun-Manie nickel - copper exploration licence, have approved the application, and the company anticipates that the fourth agency, the Ministry of Economic Development, will provide its affirmative input and approval in due course.

Yule Catto (LON:YULC) has entered into an agreement to acquire the entire issued share capital of Germany's PolymerLatex for a total transaction value of €443 million. Yule Catto further announced a 4 for 3 rights issue to raise gross proceeds of approximately £225 million.

PetroLatina Energy (LON:PELE) has engaged Ryder Scott Company, the independent petroleum consultants, located in Houston, USA to conduct a petrophysical and field performance study.

It will then use the resulting data derived from that study to complete a reservoir simulation exercise on the company's core fields in Colombia.

Data from these studies will be utilised by Ryder Scott to produce an updated assessment of the company's reserves and resources as at 31 December 2010, with its report expected to be available during Q1 2011.

“With the support of external specialist consultants, the results of the studies currently being undertaken are being integrated into our engineering and production models.

“We believe that the information obtained from these studies will allow the Company to resume development drilling in 2011 in a more effective and lower risk manner, thereby, maximising shareholder value,” said chief executive of PetroLatina Juan Carlos Rodriguez.

Caledon Resources (LON:CDN) announced a 256% increase (874 million tonnes) to the coal resource estimate for the Minyango coking and thermal coal project bringing the total Minyango coal resource estimate to 1,216 million tonnes.

The Minyango project is located approximately 15 kilometres north of the company's Cook Mine.

Charles Street Capital (LON:CHC) has agreed terms to acquire the entire issued share capital of Westcork Copper Mining Company. Westcork holds six prospecting permits totalling 18,500 hectares, in the historic Allihies copper district, located in County Cork Ireland.
