Morning news summary: Rolls-Royce, Desire Petroleum, Rockhopper Exploration, Gulf Keystone Petroleum

Rolls-Royce (LON:RR) has won new contracts valued at over $110 million for energy projects in Europe, Africa, India and the Middle East.

Petrofac (LON:PFC) has acquired a 20% interest in Gateway Storage Company Limited (Gateway), to progress and develop the Gateway Gas Storage project in the East Irish Sea.

SABMiller (LON:SAB) announced that Richard Rushton, the current President of its Central American operations, has been appointed as President of Bavaria SA in Colombia.

Cobham (LON:COB) as reached agreement to acquire the share capital of the privately owned RVision, for US$28 million payable in cash on completion.

Additional cash consideration of up to US$20 million is payable between 2012 and 2014, contingent on future performance.

AstraZeneca (LON:AZN) announced that the European Commission has granted marketing authorisation to BRILIQUE (ticagrelor tablets) for the prevention of atherothrombotic events in adult patients with Acute Coronary Syndromes (ACS).

Desire Petroleum (LON:DES) announced that the 14/15-2 Rachel North well will be plugged and abandoned after sampling of the main sand has shown that the hydrocarbons are residual and that the mobile fluid is water.

Rockhopper Exploration (LON:RKH) holds a 7.5% working interest in the well.

Nyota Minerals (LON:NYO) has commenced an initial 2,000 metre regional diamond drilling programme for its Ethiopian Billa-Guliso and Yubdo Exploration License Areas.

The programme will initially focus on several high-grade gold targets identified from previous soil geochemistry, trench, diamond drilling and IP Resistivity/Chargeability anomalies generated by Nyota in 2010.

Gulf Keystone Petroleum (LON:GKP) noted the Friday 3 December, 2010, additional notification by MOL Hungarian Oil & Gas regarding the submission of the Discovery Report on the Akri-Bijeel Block Bijeel-1 discovery well, in which Gulf Keystone holds a 20% Working Interest.

Plant Impact (LON:PIM) said that crop nutrient turnover in the six months to 30 September jumped from £469,554 a year earlier to £638,409.

Lonrho (LON:LONR) reported its results for the year to 30 Septmeber. Turnover on continuing operations soared 20% to £107.8 million.

Baobab Resources (LON:BAO) has drawn down £420,000 of its £5 million Equity Line Facility with Dutchess Opportunity Cayman Fund, announced on 25 October 2010. The funds will be used to assist with the development of the company's flagship project at Tete.

Beowulf Mining (LON:BEM) updated investors on its operations in the third quarter, which saw the completion of the acquisition of Iron of Sweden Limited and commencement of 3,500 metres diamond drilling campaign on the Kallak South deposit.
