Union Jack Oil and partners to wait on North Kelsey planning decision

A planning officer for Lincolnshire County Council will visit the North Kelsey site before a decision is made on the planning extension

Union Jack Oil PLC’s (LON:UJO) 20%-owned North Kelsey oil project has been held up as Lincolnshire County Council deferred making a decision on a planning application.

The company had applied to extend an existing planning approval, out to December 2020, but it is now expected that a decision won’t be made by the planning committee until after a site visit.

Mark Abbott, managing director of project operator Egdon Resources, said: "Today's deferral is frustrating given the strong case presented and the positive recommendation of Lincolnshire County Council's planning officer in respect of the application.

“We will provide an update once we know when Egdon's application will be heard at Lincolnshire County Council's planning committee meeting."
