Morning News Wrap: Scottish & Southern Energy, Xstrata, Imperial Tobacco, Gulf Keystone Petroleum

In the FTSE 100, Scottish & Southern Energy (LON:SSE) signed a contract with Nissan Motor Manufacturing UK to developer its 100th embedded electricity network outside the areas served by its economically-regulated subsidiaries Scottish Hydro Electric Power Distribution and Southern Electric Power Distribution.

Miner Xstrata (LON:XTA) has successfully closed a US$4 million multi-currency revolving credit facility.

Imperial Tobacco Group (LON:IMT) has confirmed that the anticipated financial performance and position of the Group for the financial year to 30 September 2010 remains in line with the Board's expectations.

On AIM, GGG Resources (LON:GGG) announced a US$2 million drilling programme at its Bullabulling gold project, the site of a former gold mine in Western Australia.
