Victoria Oil & Gas plc (LON:VOG) said it had successfully completed phased II and III of a gas pipeline extension into industrial area of Doula, Cameroon’s second city.
The 15km pipeline has connected seven new customers, three of which are already consuming gas. The other four are scheduled to commission their burners in the first quarter.
Collectively, these businesses will use 600,000 standard cubic feet of gas per day.
The Bonaberi extension of the company’s central pipeline is part of VOG’s strategy to provide gas to the western industrial area of the city, which is becoming a new hub for new developments utilising Douala's port, power and road networks.
Turning to the firm’s drilling programme, it is working with its contractors to make up time caused by a lightening strike during the assembly phase for the drill rig.
The first of the two wells has been drilled and cased down to just over 1,000 metres, with preparations underway to go deeper.
The second well has been drilled and cased down to 1,173 metres.
