Small Cap news: ZOO Digital, Alliance Pharma, smartFOCUS, Lipoxen, China Shoto, BioNeutral Group

Small caps moved along with the majors with the FTSE AIM 100 index posting a 3.1% weekly loss, while the FTSE AIM All-Share index shed 2.4% over the past five days.

The management of Seeing Machines (LON:SEE) is confident that delayed orders will come through in the coming weeks, and the revenues will be recognised in H1 FY11, Edison Investment Research said in a research note. Edison added that there has been no weakening in the sales pipeline, the group remains well capitalised and the significant scope of opportunity for business is undiminished.

Novel eco-technology company for human, animal and environmental health TyraTech (LON:TYR) said its revenues in 2009, which it called “a year of development,” rose as product sales nearly tripled, while operating expenses were slashed by 30%.

Alliance Pharma (LON:APH) said that its second largest shareholder Nigel Wray has bought a further 0.8 million shares in the company to up his stake to 11.26% and remain its second largest shareholder behind Chief Executive John Dawson.

In today’s AGM statement, China Shoto (LON:CHNS) warned investors of a 15% year-on-year drop in revenue and profitability during the first 5 months of the year. The company said that China's major telecoms operators have reduced investment in infrastructure projects, which has led to reduced domestic demand for back-up battery products.

The Allied Defense Group (AMEX: ADG) said it has signed a definitive purchase agreement with Chemring Group PLC (LON: CHG) under which the latter will acquire substantially all of the assets of ADG for US$59.6 million in cash and the assumption of certain liabilities. Chemring had announced to merge with ADG in January 2010 paying the same amount, having signed a conditional agreement with the US group to that effect.

ZOO Digital (LON:ZOO) has seal another significant contract, with a second major Hollywood film studio adopting its media collaboration platform. The company's software platform will allow the film studio to repurpose and reuse content from a variety of media, across multiple formats - from printed materials to on-line content and optical discs.

Multi-channel marketing software specialist smartFOCUS Group (LON:STF) has won a contract with a major online gaming company PartyGaming (LON:PRTY), to provide high performance marketing software to increase both the volume and value of player activity across PartyGaming’s brands - including PartyPoker, PartyCasino, PartyBets and PartyBingo.

Lipoxen (LON:LPX) told investors that its mono-functional PSA PolyXen technology grant has been allowed, thus extending the PolyXen technology patent family in the US. The award gives both Lipoxen and its license partners additional patent protection into 2025.

BioNeutral Group Inc (OTC:BONU) has updated investors regarding its proposed takeover of sporicidal-wipe business Steri-7. BioNeutral’s chief scientist, Dr Andy Kielbania, is set to join Steri-7 once the transaction completes and the companies integrate their operations.
