Aggreko (LSE: AGK) said it has traded in line with expectations in the first quarter to 31 March 2010 as revenues grew 5% after the group posted a new order intake record with 18 new projects for over 440 MW (MegaWatt) contracted.
The UK’s consumer and competition authority, the Office of Fair Trading, has imposed fines totalling £225m on two tobacco manufacturers and ten retailers. According to the OFT’s ruling the companies were engaged in unlawful practices in relation to retail prices for tobacco products in the UK, between 2001 and 2003. The tobacco manufacturers involved are Imperial Tobacco (LSE: IMT) and Gallaher, owned by Japan Tobacco (TYO: 2914). The retailers are Wal-Mart’s (NYSE: WMT) subsidiary Asda, Morrisons (LSE: MRW) as well as its recently acquired Safeway business, Sainsbury's (LSE: SRBY), Somerfield, Shell’s (LSE: RDSB) retail and service stations business, the Co-operative Group, First Quench, One Stop Stores and TM Retail.
FTSE250 European real estate investor, Hansteen Holdings (LSE: HSTN) has bought a multi-sector portfolio of 61 freehold and leasehold assets, covering 1.2 million square feet, from various subsidiaries of troubled property companies Kilmartin Holdings, Kilmartin Group and Annfield Assets Limited for £80.375 million.
Tullow Oil (LSE: TLW) has successfully delineated the extent of oil in the Kasamene field and discovered oil in the Wahrindi North fault block, through the drilling of the Kasamene-3 and Kasamene-3A wells in the Butiaba region of Uganda Block 2.
