Experienced mining and business executive Mark Hohnen has become a director at Bacanora Minerals Ltd (CVE:BCN) with immediate effect.
The 66-year-old has extensive international business experience in a wide range of industries including mining and exploration, property, investment, software and agriculture.
He was formerly a director of Kalahari Minerals and Extract Resources and negotiated the sale of both companies to Taurus (CGN).
He remains on the board of Swakop Uranium, developing the world's second largest uranium mine and the largest mine development in southern Africa. He is also a director of ASX-listed Salt Lake Potash Limited.
The firm's Sonora lithium project continues to advance, with work for a key feasibility study now started and discussions ongoing over financing.
The project houses an indicated resource of 259 Mt (million tonnes) averaging 3,200 ppm (parts per million) lithium for 4.5 Mt of LCE (lithium carbonate equivalent), while the inferred resource is 160 Mt averaging 3,200 ppm Li for 2.7 Mt of LCE.
At the Magdalena Borate project, it is doing pre-feasibility to determine the economic benefit of developing the mine and plant to become a supplier of boric acid.
