Gfinity’s eSports championship draws 58.5mln online views

The championship comprised 23 weekly tournaments, held between March and September, at the Gfinity Arena, in Fulham.

There were some 58.5mln online views of the 2015 Gfinity Championship series, the AIM quoted company told investors.

Gfinity (LON:GFIN), the eSports group, revealed that the successful event had exceeded the original target of 50mln online views.

"Gfinity has quickly become regarded as one of the leading providers of eSports content,” said chief executive Neville Upton.

“We are very pleased to have exceeded our target of 50 million views for the series, demonstrating our ability to attract the best players and talent and stage top quality eSports events.”

The championship comprised 23 weekly tournaments, held between March and September, at the Gfinity Arena, in Fulham, and it was streamed live online. And the final event, held at the NEC in Birmingham, drew an audience of 8.75mln.

Collectively viewers watched more than 15mln hours of live content, Gfinity said.
