IronRidge Resources (LON:IRR) said Tsuyoshi Ueda (Thomas Ueda) had joined the firm as a non-exec director with immediate effect.
The appointment is part of the group's strategic alliance with Sumitomo Corporation and the company said he brings a wealth of expertise in the strategic development, marketing, operational and corporate development of the company's Gabonese iron ore assets.
Ueda is currently the deputy general manager of Sumitomo's Iron & Steel Making Raw Materials Department.
Before this, he was the general manager for Sumitomo's Africa Division for Mineral Resources and Steel Products.
