Gold explorer Condor Gold PLC (LON:CNR) could be sitting on a "truly global" sized gold district at its La India project in Nicaragua.
So says chief executive Mark Child after the group kicked off this week scout drilling at several smaller targets at its flagship La India project in Nicaragua.
The purpose of the 4,000m programme is to demonstrate the gold potential across the entire project, which is currently estimated to be host to 2.31 million ounces of the yellow metal.
The first 2,000m of drilling is to expand mineralisation at the El Cacao and Cristalito-Tatescame targets, as well as to test for mineralisation the Andrea vein, which has never been drilled.
Child noted that it was nine years since the group first drilled the  El Cacao concession area.
"We've long said this project hosts a big district. We aim to prove that," he said, adding he believed there was definitely another "couple" of million ounces out there.
