Sam Smith, chief executive of finnCap, tells Proactive Investors the broker has had “a record year on all fronts,” after it released results for the financial year just gone.

The stockbroker reported a 10% rise in revenues to £17.8mln for the year to April, while pre-tax profits jumped 28% to £2.8mln, and Smith says the company has produced a “pretty consistent performance over some pretty flat times in the market”.

In the year, the company completed its largest fundraise to date, raising £80mln in December CityFibre Infrastructure Holdings PLC (LON:CITY), and Smith says there could be more on the cards.

She says the company has an advantage because “we can service things very well” adding that she is “quite excited” for the year ahead, even though the market could be “pretty tricky” for the next twelve months.
