UK Investor Update - 25 April 2019

Royal Bank of Scotland Group PLC (LON:RBS) chief executive Ross McEwan has resigned after five and a half years in charge of the taxpayer-owned lender. McEwan, who will stay in the role until a successor is found and gets their feet under the desk, said it was time to leave as he felt he had completed the turnaround for which he was hired.

J Sainsbury PLC (LON:SBRY) and Asda have abandoned plans to merge after the UK competition watchdog rejected the proposed deal. The UK Competition and Markets Authority concluded that the deal would result in a “substantial lessening of competition” in areas where Asda and Sainsbury’s both have supermarkets, convenience stores and petrol stations.

Scancell Holdings PLC (LON:SCLP) is to kick off the UK arm of the phase II clinical trial of its flagship skin cancer drug within weeks after receiving approval from regulators.

Live Company Group Plc (LON:LVCG) has announced the upcoming launch of its latest touring asset, BRICKLIVE Ocean, at Edinburgh Zoo. They’ve signed an agreement with the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland to hold the exhibit, which includes life-sized models of Killer Whales, Dolphins and Hammerhead Sharks.

Plus, BigDish PLC (LON:DISH) will launch its restaurant booking app in Basingstoke, Exeter and Brighton in the next few weeks.
