Giulio Cesareo, Directa Plus’ (LON:DCTA) chief executive, is optimistic over the group’s prospects in clothing following the award of a  €500,000 workwear contract from an Italian group.

Workwear is a US$7.5bn market worldwide while the police, military and fireman in Italy alone require 250,000 pieces of kit each year.

Cesareo is also set to launch a range of jeans this week in association with Indian company Arvind that will contain G+, Directa’s graphene additive.

That’s in addition to a very successful trial recently using graphene to boost the durability and sustainability of asphalt in roads.

“The market is set grow rapidly over the next few years,” he tells Proactive.
