Red Pine Exploration welcomes latest exploration findings from Wawa gold project in Michipicoten greenstone belt

Red Pine Exploration Inc (TSX-V:RPX, OTCQB:RDEXF) has unveiled the latest exploration findings from its Wawa gold project in the Michipicoten greenstone belt of Ontario, which, the firm said, continues to show that mineralization can be extended beyond the current resource at the Surluga deposit, and also found additional gold-bearing structures on the property.

"The exploration story continues to unfold with additional discoveries made outside the Surluga and Minto resources that remain open down dip and down-plunge," said Quentin Yarie, the CEO of Red Pine Exploration in a statement.

"Our drill campaigns from 2021 to 2022 continue to deliver significant intersections at the Wawa Gold project. The results demonstrate the potential to increase the size of the existing resource on the project with continued exploration. Our recent discovery and confirmation of an intrusion-related gold-bearing system west of the Jubilee shear significantly expands the potential of a large tonnage shallow gold deposit," he added.

Among the highlights, three zones of mineralization were hit containing 5.57 grams per ton (g/t) gold over 8.51 metres (m), 4.41 g/t gold over 1.27m and 0.35 g/t gold over 26.43m, within a length, which started from a depth of 115.18m in one hole.

In addition, a new and near-surface network of extensional quartz veins was discovered 80m south of the Sadowski vein system in the hanging wall of the Surluga deposit, which has expanded the potential for a bulk underground and/or shallow pit resource, noted the company.

Proving that mineralization extends at least 600m away from the current boundary of the Surluga deposit resource in the Jubilee Shear Zone, one hole, at the Surluga South target, hit 2.69 g/t gold over 4.01m, including 8.48 g/t gold over 1.15m.

The Wawa gold project sits in a region, which has seen major investment by several producers in the last five years. The company's land package hosts numerous historic gold mines and is over 6,900 hectares.
