Viva Gold stock jumps on gold drill results plus more daily small cap movers

High-grade gold assays sparked shares of Viva Gold Corp Monday, plus other big percentage movers on news from the small and micro cap space

4:05pm: Viva Gold, Queensland Gold Hills adds to gains late day

Viva Gold ended up 106% at $0.175, while Queensland Gold Hills finished 144% higher to $0.305, Kraken Robotics rose 2% to $0.52, and Empower Clinics rose as much as 13%.

12:45pm: Viva Gold, Queensland Gold Hills shares surge

Viva Gold Corp (TSXV:VAU) shares shot up 100% to $0.17, on volume of more than 1.4 million shares, Monday after the gold junior announced initial assay results from a Reverse Circulation (RC) drill program at its Tonopah gold project in Nevada, which included 58.0 meters (m) grading 5.0 grams per tonne (g/t) gold starting at a depth of 40m.

As well, shares of Queensland Gold Hills Corp (TSXV: OZAU) powered 132% higher to $0.29 as the mineral exploration company said it has agreed to acquire a 100% interest in the 86 square kilometre Mia Lithium property in the James Bay area of Quebec from privately-held Canadian Mining House, in consideration for 13 million Queensland common shares, C$500,000 in cash, and a commitment to carry out C$1 million in exploration expenditures.

Kraken Robotics Inc (TSXV:PNG), meanwhile, reported that it has received an initial order for subsea batteries valued at $14 million, which includes a significant advance payment.

The marine technology company noted that deliveries will occur in 2023. Its stock moved up 6% to $0.54 following the announcement.

And, Empower Clinics Inc (CSE:EPW) shares rose 13% to $0.045 on Monday after the integrated healthcare company posted sharply higher revenue of C$1,573,809 for the third quarter, a 288% jump from the previous year thanks to the launch of its COVID-19 testing clinics for cruise ship passengers in Vancouver, Canada, and increased sales from MediSure.
