Barclays PLC (LSE:BARC) has said its chief executive will undergo cancer treatment
Tthe FTSE 100-listed lender noted that CS Venkatakrishnan, who will be treated for non-hodgkin lymphoma, said in a letter to colleagues that "doctors have advised that my prognosis is excellent, and my condition is curable with their prescribed regimen."
The bank will "run normally" and he "will continue to be actively engaged in managing it", the lender said in a statement.
Venkatakrishnan will have to work from home for some periods and will not be able to travel while his treatment is likely to last 12 to 16 weeks and will take place at New York's Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
