Aurion Resources (TSX-V:AU) Ltd has provided an update on exploration activities at its wholly-owned Risti property located in Finland’s Central Lapland Greenstone Belt, saying surveys have generated 20 high priority drill targets where gold and/or pathfinder element anomalies co-exist with interpreted structural features.
The Canadian exploration company said the ongoing scout drilling program is testing selected high priority targets such as Notches, where several gold-bearing structures were intersected with results that included 7.03 grams per tonne (g/t) gold over 0.9 metres (m).
“The exploration success at Ikkari (4 million ounces), by our neighbour Rupert Resources, has moved the focus of our efforts away from our outcropping discoveries hosted in clastic sediments and towards the large areas of mafic/ultra-mafic rock that lie under cover across Risti,” Aurion Resources CEO Matti Talikka said in a statement.

“The recently-commenced scout drill program has identified gold mineralization in all selected target areas tested to date,” Talikka added.
Aurion also noted that gold was intersected at the Aamurusko trend, 1,500m west from Aamurusko Main, while at the Kaares trend, gold and platinum-group elements (PGE) mineralization was intersected in new target areas.
It added that gold mineralization was intersected in 17 out of 23 holes and in all target areas tested to date.
As well, the company said the scout drilling program is planned to continue until mid-December to test further high priority targets.
Aurion Resources is a well-funded Canadian exploration group and says its current focus is the flagship Risti and Launi projects, as well as its joint venture properties with B2Gold and Kinross in Finland.
