JPMorgan Chase and Deutsche Bank are being sued by victims of alleged sex-trafficker Jeffery Epstein.
Two women who accused the now-deceased Epstein of sexual abuse have filed lawsuits against the banks claiming they ignored “red flags” while benefiting from his operations.
Both lawsuits were filed in New York as class action cases and were brought by lawyers who have represented previous accusers.
According to the BBC, the women are seeking financial damages for years of abuse, alleging that JPMorgan and Deutsche Bank knew the accounts were being used for trafficking due to the identity of the individuals withdrawing cash.
Epstein had been banking with JPMorgan up until 2013 when it severed ties with the former billionaire, who then made the switch to Deutsche Bank.
Deutsche Bank admitted previously it made a mistake taking on Epstein as a client, although a spokesperson, quoted by the BBC, said “We believe this claim lacks merit and will present our arguments in court.”
