Using the iSpoof software, which was advertised to criminals on the dark web and via encrypted chat apps, an estimated 50,000 criminals scammed at least £50mln from around 200,000 victims in the UK.
2. Jim Ratcliffe interested in buying his boyhood club
The 70-year-old Mancunian billionaire is reported to be preparing a bid for his hometown club after current owners, the Glazer family, confirmed they would be open to a sale after 17 years in charge.
3. Buy BT, says Jefferies
They said Openreach CEO Clive Selley is quoted as saying that what will be suspended is work on surveys and estimates for future work beyond this 15mln footprint, but he asserts that Openreach remains committed to the target of covering 25mln premises by December 2026.
