Marvel Gold Ltd (ASX:MVL) has farewelled non-executive director Andrew Pardey and brought Howard Golden and his track record of success into the position.
Pardey stepped down, effective immediately, to concentrate on his role as managing director of Predictive Discovery Ltd (ASX:PDI).
40 years experience
Marvel should be well served by Golden’s 40-plus years of experience in the mining industry, across six continents.
Golden played a pivotal role in the discovery of the Syama, Oyu Tolgoi, Agbaou and West Musgrave ore deposits.
He has held senior executive roles with major listed companies, including as global exploration manager for Nordgold, as general manager exploration of Rio Tinto, as regional director of exploration at Kinross Gold Corp, as chief geophysicist of WMC Resources in Australia and as principal geoscientist for BHP Minerals.
Golden also has a proven track record of exploration success on the global stage and has led multi-disciplined exploration programs in different climates, conditions and regulatory regimes.
“On behalf of the directors and the management team, I would like to thank Andrew for the valuable contribution he has made and wish him all the best for the future,” Marvel chair Stephen Dennis said.
“We are delighted to welcome Howard to the board. Howard has enjoyed a distinguished career in the resources industry and brings a track record of exploration success to Marvel."
