Burcon NutraScience Corporation has announced that Aaron Ratner was elected to its board of directors at the company's annual general meeting held on November 23.
The developer of plant-based proteins for foods and beverages said Ratner has over 20 years of domestic and international investment and advisory experience, including eight years in Asia, focusing on project finance, venture capital, climate technology, energy, and agriculture.
“Aaron has a strong track record of experience investing in early-stage climate positive companies, as well as developing and financing sustainable infrastructure projects,” Burcon NutraScience chair Peter Kappel said in a statement.

“His project finance and development experience will provide Burcon with valuable guidance and input in our go-to-market strategies,” Kappel added.
Ratner is a managing partner and co-founder of Vectr Carbon Partners, an early-stage global climate technology venture capital fund manager, as well as CEO of Clean Earth Acquisitions Corp.
Burcon NutraScience is a global technology leader in the development of plant-based proteins for foods and beverages and holds a 31.6% stake in Merit Foods.
