Japan Gold updates investors on its Barrick Gold alliance projects in Kyushu and Hokkaido

In Kyushu at the Mizobe project, Japan Gold said an induced polarization geophysical survey comprising 14.6 line km has been completed over the Eastern part of the project

Japan Gold (TSX-V:JG) Corp said work programs have commenced on priority targets in Kyushu and Hokkaido following the selection of six of the company’s projects in early September by Barrick Gold Corporation as part of the alliance between the two companies.

In Kyushu at the Mizobe project, Japan Gold (TSX-V:JG) said an induced polarization (IP) geophysical survey comprising 14.6 line kilometres (km) has been completed over the Eastern part of the project.

The IP survey was aimed at mapping subsurface chargeability and resistivity features potentially representing buried mineralization and surrounding alteration haloes, the company said. From the interpretation of combined data sets, an initial three drill holes are planned to be commenced in January 2023.

At the Ebino project, also located in Kyushu, a 9.4 line km IP survey was completed in early November at the Otsuka prospect. Geological mapping is planned to be completed over the Otsuka prospect in November to aid in the definition of drill targets for 2023 if warranted, Japan Gold said.

In Hokkaido at the Aibetsu project, the company said mapping has defined two extensive clay alteration zones with associated vein mineralization, and preparations were now underway for IP surveying to cover priority areas in 2023 to advance drill targeting within the project.

At the Hakuryu project, the company said mapping has confirmed extensive alteration and localized quartz veining. A positive interpretation of results from the mapping program will be followed up with IP surveying in 2023 to advance drill targeting.

Japan Gold is a Canadian mineral exploration company focused solely on gold exploration across the three largest islands of Japan: Hokkaido, Honshu and Kyushu.
