Ondine Biomedical Inc (AIM:OBI) said it has appointed a leading medical device distributor that will lead the commercial push for its nasal photodisinfection technology in Spain.
Distrauma Medical, which specialises in surgical equipment, will add Ondine’s Steriwave to its product catalogue.
Steriwave is a five-minute, non-antibiotic treatment that has been developed to prevent hospital-acquired infections, including surgical site bacteria.
A key benefit of this approach is that pathogens do not develop resistance to the therapy.
Steriwave has CE Mark approval in the EU and has also received regulatory sign-off in Canada and the UK.
