Hurricane Energy receives multiple expressions of interest after hanging out the 'for sale' signs

On the subject of the sale process, the company told investors: “The company will provide further updates in due course”

Hurricane Energy PLC (LSE:HUR) said it has received multiple expressions of interest from "credible counterparties" after putting the business up for sale earlier this month.

It made the short statement alongside a formal reaction to changes to oil exploration taxes and incentives outlined in chancellor Jeremy Hunt’s Autumn Statement on Thursday.

On the subject of the sale process, Hurricane told investors: “The company will provide further updates in due course.”

Hurricane’s activities are focused on the West of Shetland area in the waters off northern Scotland.

It is a pioneer in fractured basement oil targets and has developed the Lancaster early production system. Average production in the first half was 9,000 barrels a day, and since 2019 it has produced a total of 14mln barrels of crude.
